National Pathways Festival

The National Pathways Festival convenes pre-college Pathways musicians from across the country in Nashville for a multi-day musical experience. Selected through a competitive audition, fellows will play side-by-side with the Nashville Symphony under the leadership of Giancarlo Guerrero. Fellows will also network with collegiate representatives and peers who come from similar cultural backgrounds.

Equity Arc Summit

The Equity Arc Summit occurs concurrently with the National Pathways Festival. Attendees will engage in strategic conversations on advancing equity collectively at the pre-college and collegiate stages of musical development.

Summit Highlights Include:

• Opportunities to connect with representatives from collegiate and Pathways programs
• Keynote Address from Monica Ellis, bassoonist of Imani Winds
• Strategic conversations on building representative classes in a post-Affirmative Action environment
• Progress report and continued discussion on the pre-college and collegiate action items identified at the 2023 convening in Cincinnati
• Culminating side-by-side performance of Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony from the National Pathways Festival Orchestra, followed by a post-concert reception
